Re: the nursing bras, I've always worn an underwire nursing bra...Sorry, after bfing Aaron, the girls have NEVER recovered!

So have I!  What is the benefit of no under wires?  I am a D cup, so there is no way....

I don't care if they disappear.  At least I'll be able to wear nice bras that will make me look like I still have them!

We're on about 3 feeds a day now and I'm back in pre-pg bras!  Crazy!  I've basically figured out how to grab the boobs out of pretty much any outfit (even running clothes yesterday morning!) so I've ditched the nursing bras entirely.  It's weird to see them back to normal again (well, a new normal, I guess :P).  If I could get rid of these last few pg pounds I'd almost be back to my old self!  All in good time, I suppose.  :D

Apparently you are not meant to wear wires in the early phases as they can cut off the developing mammary tissue and cause blockages. But i recent;y heard you don't need to worry about that after 8 weeks ::) Useful informaton to know 12 months ago!! We don't really have underwire nursing bras here.. I'm also a DD- so you can imagine my joy to get back into underwire! The first one i had on was an underwire sports bra= so not at all sexy, but i was so excited i wanted to wear it all the time!

I've finally figured out why i don't' have a good freezer stash with DD. i was still working the occasional shift with DS so i'd pump at work and have milk to put in the fridge. so i always had something in there. i also ALWAYS have an audience when pumping as my 5 yo is mesmerized by the whole process. makes it hard to get a really good let down!

i think this was another thread but i have a hard time BFing comfortably in public. i don't mind BF in public, it just bothers my back and arms. I think it is bc my boobs are not that huge so its not like my boob is hanging low for DD to latch on - i have to pull her up to it. without anything supporting (boppy, etc) my arms it gets uncomfortable pretty quick!

with DS i wore underwire the entire time. i just bought 2 new bras and they are not underwire but fairly supportive and i'm wearing a 34 DD. (pre- preggo size 32 C). they gives me pretty nice cleavage though LOL. if anyone is interested the brand, ill look. i bought them at a specialty nursing store. i also bought a nursing sports bra which  has been so handy.

i pumped a bit today & plan to do so tomorrow and DH is getting the nightshift tomorrow night. i'm sure she will wake up 0-1 times. (oh and he just gives her the bottle when she is lying down and doesn't even pick her up - thats another topic!!!!) these last 2 nights i've been so exhausted bc DD was waking up more. I tried to ignore her night before last to the point where DH got up. he knew what i was up to though. i had a  pillow over my head which is the sign. it was just one of the nights where i was about to cry i was tired and really needed some sleep. granted, its 11pm now and here  i am.

i don't think we will be moving to a 4 hr EASY anytime soon :(

i was told by my numerous doctors & nurses throughout my pregnancy not to wear underwired bras :( yet my friend who was pregnant at the same time as me was never told!!!!

nona,
i have had so many days&nights like that, close to tears/in tears!it's so hard!hte tiredness is an absolute killer.i found it so hard, emotionally, knowing that i HAD to get up & feed her.there were so many times that i woke up hearing her shuffling & wanting food, but i was wishing that i was just dreaming & that she was still asleep...awful to admit :( once i was out of bed, i was ok,but getting out of bed...that's another story!

Aah I so know what you guys mean about the bras. I'm an E cup and finding a good normal bra is tough, much less a nursing one. So far I have been happy with Cake Lingerie, as the have very supportive cups and a light under-wire.

i don't mind BF in public, it just bothers my back and arms. I think it is bc my boobs are not that huge
Having huge ones doesn't help either as I have lean back and hold DD in a way that doesn't smother her.
There is no way I'm BF in public, I get too embarrassed as I would get too much attention because of my size!
I sometimes think it would be easier to go into a restaurant and ask for boiled water for some formula instead of running around trying to find a place to hide.

Another thing to rant about - the leaking.... I've leaked through nursing pads so now I'm super paranoid when I go out in public and keep checking my shirt.

That's me those first couple of months ::)  With DS, I'd wake up soaked on both sides and so engorged.  DD, it was still there, but not as bad.  I had to carry around extra nursing pads wherever I went.  Lansinoh nursing pads are the best at stopping leaks!!

The leaking does improve- ALTHOUGH i;ve decided i;m doing a NF too regularly as the past few nights i've actually leaked out of the opposite side from the feed onto my PJ shirt!! HE's ONE!!! ::)

I still were pads bc still leak with let down. I will wake up wet if a feed is skipped. I hate wearing pads though so at night I use an extra burp cloth & stuff it in my pj top when I'm nursing. I use Lansinoh too.

Eva- thx for the clarification!  Have u tried lily pads?

I have a sports-like nursing bra that I wear to bed.  I can't WAIT until I can sleep on my stomach because my back is killing me from the awkward positions my body subconsciously contorts itself into during the night, knowing that sleeping on the girls can make my supply drop ::)  The things we do...
