Very confused about EASY for nearly 9 month old
« on: July 24, 2012, 04:45:22 am »
Hello,
I have no idea what I'm doing at the moment. I have run into a few stumbling blocks :(
Our EASY looks roughly like this
Between 7-8am wake up
8am Milk and then solids
10-10:30 Naptime
12 Wake up, Milk
1 Solids
Between 2-3pm Nap time, getting closer to 3pm
3:30 Preschool pick up or if non-preschool day leave her to sleep until 4:30pm
4pm Milk
5:30-6 Dinner
7 Bath and Bedtime

* My LO is struggling again with her feeds. We have started to cut out the DF. Last night we ditched it all together as she was only having 40mls and she woke at 3am. We didn't feed her and got her back to sleep after an hour. Is this part of the process of getting rid of the DF? I try to get her to have 200mls per feed during the day. But often she stops at 50 mls and starts complaning and crying. Should I continue with ditching the DF and not feed her if she has a NW?

* When she naps at 11am, she wakes at 1pm and things tend to get out of sync. Then she'd want to nap at 4pm. How does this work with the night time routine? Also it makes it difficult if there is a preschool pick up at 3:30.

* How much milk vs solids should she be having?

Thanks :)

hugs, looks like you and your LO are doing great :)
She has Reflux is that right? - Do you think she is in any discomfort ATM? Any teeth coming?

You could be getting close to having to cap 1 nap in order to keep the day on track...have a look at this link and let me know what you think.

I would ditch the DF for now, around this age a lot of LOs drop to 3/4 Bottles/BF during the day as their solids intake increases and they start drinking water for hydration as well.
This may also help.

I would BF on WU, after each nap and before BT. Around 10 mths we dropped to 3 feeds and at this point solids were offered before feeds. Some people offer solids before feeds earlier but with Z having reflux and having increased NW with too much solids after lunchtime we held off a little longer.
