Had our first food reaction in months last night!
« on: July 28, 2012, 17:57:02 pm »
Nursery gave him mango on Weds and he had a NW about 5am which I put down to the heat and the fact he was only wearing a nappy. They gave it to him again yesterday and at 11.30pm he woke crying and couldn't be settled. Now he is old enough he was able to say that his tummy was hurting. Sure enough he passed loads of wind of the next hour or so  :P

Now I am wondering if it wasn't fructose that gave him the upset tummies but just mango!

Funny that mango caused you trouble - Dylan has no allergies to any fruit or veg (that we know of) but mango makes his eczema flare up like you would not believe! Is there a way for you to test your fructose/mango theory? Just wait for it to be out of his system and then try another fruit?

He seems to be ok with other high fructose fruit in small doses. Haven't tried high doses though. The long NW after one lot of mango is very unusual though. We used to give him a lot of mango before we took fructose out as it is a soft fruit and so good for weaning and finger foods. That might explain the horrendous NWs we used to have.
