DF causes NW?

My ds is 11 wks old, and has reflux so he sleeps in his swing. The last 3 nights he has slept 7-8 hrs between feeds which has been amazing! So tonighti decided to try a df to see if I could get the stretch to be closer to my normal sleeping hours. We teiedunsuccesafukky for about a week to get him to take the feed  once he fondly did, both tunes have resulted in a wake up a couple of hours after. Should I not bother trying? Last night his last feeding g was at 6, and I really wanted toget another feedin there. Should I just hold him up a little longer in case it's his reflux?

I'd say there's a fairly good chance that the reflux is upsetting him a bit and waking him up -- I would definitely try to hold him upright a bit more after the DF.  I found with my ds that I'd have to make sure that he was well burped before I put him back down -- I know it says in the book that babies don't necessarily need to be burped after the df, but mine would wake quite a bit if I didn't burp him.  Generally, we like to say that you should give the df a good week or so to see if it works before giving up -- sometimes they just need to get used to it.

At 11w you've still got plenty more growth spurts to come, so you'll probably not get a longer night for a while yet.  7-8h is an amazing amount of sleep for you so far.  BF babies will often carry on with a NF until up to a year (sometimes even more).  Also each NF between 12am and 6am is a good boost to supply :)

Wow pls excuse all the typos!! I posted that on my phone in the middle of the night. Anyway, good advice about holding him up a little longer, and about the middle of the night feed being a supply booster. I go back to work Monday and I teach preschool, so pumping will be difficult. I'll need all the help I can get with keeping my supply up! Although after eating a couple times last night I didn't pump nearly as much this morning as normal, but I guess that's just my supply adjusting. Thanks ladies!

Once you're back at work you may find he wakes a bit more for feeds in the night to compensate for the time you've been away during the day (reverse cycling), just as a heads up :)

My first one dos that when I went back to work after having him, but it was short lived...hopefully the same will happen this time :) thanks for the heads up though!
