Hi Mamas... my DD is 5 months old next Sunday ( she was 3 weeks early) and we seem to be going backwards in the NF department. I thought we had already gone through a growth spurt but maybe not? She is eating roughly every 3 hours. Of course since she is a BF baby I don't want to be holding out on her if she really is hungry. She is on a 3.5 hour EASY doing about a 1 hour50 minute A. SHe *usually* does a 1.5ish hour AM nap with HTTJ and then another one early PM with some more help. If that one blows up we sometimes have to have 2 CNs to get through to BT. Do I dare try to resettle her instead of feeding her? If it has been less than 3 hours I do resettle ( she gets shifty after the 5ish AM feeding). Any thoughts?

As I understand it, with her having been early, it may be that the previous GS you had was more like the 3m one and perhaps now you're getting what would've been the 4m one?

Aah, so maybe that is it? So just keep plugging away and feeding as often as needed?

Plug away for a few more days and see where it gets you.  I assume you're getting good, full feedings in?

She is taking full feeds. WHich for her, from the beginning, have been pretty quick. Maybe 10 minutes. 15 if she is feeling lesiurely. SHould I try putting her back on the first side during the day after she has drained both or offer a side before a nap or something? Our naps, after the 1st one, are a bit up in the air. THanks for the advice!

Just heading out the door but wanted to add, after this feed she wanted nothing to do with first side again. Maybe she is just trying to make up the difference at night? Hmmmm....

Hun, she's a refluxer is that right? Just wanting to see if you think that discomfort could be playing a part...feed to soothe etc? X

Hi Zacsmumme! I really don't think she is, she has done long stretches in the past, but lately it has been about every 3 hours. Yawwwnnnn! WHen she was more around the 2 month range she would fairly often do 6-8 hour stretches. I miss those days!!

Sounds more and more growth spurtish to me -- it seems you're due for the 4 mo one -- and if that's not it, my LO had a monster one at 5 months.  :)

THanks, I had better get to bed then...should I do anything differently in the day time or just feed, feed, feed no matter when it is?

Feed when she seems like she needs it -- I never had any luck adding a ton more feeds, but it did work to feed at kind of a 2.5 instead of 3 hour EASY.

Thanks Erin, I pushed her to 2hr5 A for her 2nd nap after a good 1hr30 minutes first nap as I was having NO luck resettling her half way through on this nap. Fed her right before I laid her down. LAst night she ate every 2-2.5 hours. I am going to try to clusterfeed her this afternoon and see where it gets us. Can't get much more exhausting I say! But, that being said.....:)

Soooo, I am not sure if our good 2nd nap ( never happens) was me finally getting the A right2Hr10 minutes or if this is just being in the middle of a GS as I fed her before putting her down. Cluster fed all afternoon and REALLY hoping for just one decent chunk of sleep. Just 3 hours solid would be wonderful!
