hi all,
i havent used these boards in a long time but im back now looking for some advice with regards to my 8 week old. Im not 100% sure if we have a routine problem or a eating problem so im posting on here hoping i can get some help. To give you some brief info my ds is my 3rd child and is 8 weeks old today, he was 11lb 12oz born and now weighs just over 15lb (hes a big boy!) He does have reflux which he is on antacid meds for and thickened milk to help stop vomiting. We have been on a 3hr easy from day one i used the easy routine with both my other children with fantastic results and ds has been going great upto the last 7-10 days, the problem being he just isnt wanting to eat every 3 hrs, every feed seems to be a battle with him almost like were forcefeeding him. I want to know if at 8 weeks old he could possibly be ready for going 4 hrs especially with him being the weight he is, hes just started doing a 9hr stretch through the night 7pm till 4am and he only takes a couple of ozs here aswell. We dont do a dream feed as he would only take an oz or so so dont see the point in staying up to do this. Hes currently having 5 feeds at 6oz but only prob has 4-5oz this is when hes had a good feed, he takes approx 50mins to get through the feed and alot of this time is him messing about and playing with the bottle, (very frusrtating when u need to be out to do the school run!) so this leads me to my second question as he is on thickened milk we are using teats that are aged at 3months could it be time to move to a faster flowing teat to make the feed easier for him?
