Multiple night wakings and exhausted!
« on: October 17, 2012, 12:15:35 pm »
Hi,
My son is nearly 7mths, we have successfully used pu/pd 2wks ago and I thought everything was going really well until my son had his 6mths shots last week. He is up every 2 hrs at night. Last night was the worse he woke at 1 and I tried to rub his back/ hold my hand on his back for nearly an hour. Then I just gave in and fed him and put him in bed beside me which in total took nearly 2 hrs to go back to sleep.
Awake again at 4 fed back o sleep, awake at 6, 7 and 8 .  Eventually got up at 9.45 as I was exhausted.

The only thing as regards pu/pd is when I go to him he just smiles so I never do pu/pd I just rub or hold my hand on his back but his dad always has to do pu/pd with him.

He is also teething a bit because he never stops drooling. Everyone keeps telling me when he takes a bottle it will all get better but he is refusing the bottle and He hates to see it. That's another area we are going to try and cox him into taking a bottle today.

I really don't know what to do and where to start. We are on a 4 hour EASY and some solids.

Thanks :) ???

Hi, can you post your exact routine in this form
E - 8 (nursed both sides)
A - 8-10
E - 9 - fruit, cereal
S - 10-12
E - 12
And so on?

He sounds like he may be a touch UT at night and the routine will help with that.

Hi,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you.

Today went well and so did last nite.
Awake at 3.15am feed
Awake at6.30
Feed 7
Solids some cereal and fruit
Sleep
9.20 -11.00
E 11
Solids12 didn't really take much

Sleep 2 50 min nap

E 3

Solids 3.30 as he wasn't really hungry

Yoghurt 6

E 6.45

S 7

He is now 7 months and very active. I also give him a dream feed evey night. We have had a massive improvement the last few nits. I'm hoping soon to drop the nite feed, any advice on how I might do it.
Thanks

Yay!  Glad to hear that you are seeing improvements!  As to the night feed -- is he breast or bottle fed?
