Today she seemed tired for a lot of the day.

Night wakings - she had a very bad cough and woke me up a lot between midnight & 2am, but she disn't fully wake herself. Woke at 5.45 for 15 mins. Back to sleep with a cuddle & replugged her dummy. Then slept until 7.20 :-)

Nap: 12.20 - 2pm - fairly disturbed with coughing fits.

BT: 7.25pm - quiet since but we'll see how tonight goes.

Hi Hun, sorry I have had my Step children to visit and I was working last night, please don't think I forgot you!  :-*

You may find whilst she is poorly everything changes, DS is the same at the moment  :(. I wouldn't necessarily shorten her morning if she seems able to handle it, but watch her closely at BT and don't push her if she seems ready, these nasty colds really do take it out of our poor LO's.

How is she  ??? How's it going  ???

I didn't feel forgotten - thank you :)

We had a fair few night wakings last night too and she woke for the day by 5.45am :( I left her in her cot as she was not crying but she began crying at 6.40 so we got up for the day then.

Nap: 11.50 - 13.47 (quite a long one for her although she stirred at 30 mins)
BT: she's just gone to bed but not asleep yet, she looked absolutely shatters but she's banging her feet in her cot. She is not chatting though, just sort of humming to herself, which she often does on her way to sleep so we'll see.

The cough is pretty bad & when she starts it makes it reasonably hard for her to breathe, it sounds a bit choking iykwim. She's ok in herself though, although tired.

I think they so often are Hun, they're much stronger than us when ill, but I have found that it makes it harder to realise how rubbish they're feeling YK  ??? so erring on the side of caution WRT rest is usually wise for us. I hope she didn't take forever to settle and is well again soon.x.

She settled really quickly thanks, annoyingly though her cough woke her in the middle of the night & she didn't go back to sleep for 2 or 3 hours. DH & I were so exhausted we have up & took we into our bed. We did all then sleep until 7.40 but ....soooo tired :(

Well yesterday and last night were much better:
WU: 7.40
Nap: 12.25 - 1ish (she was in her travel cot at a friends house as we were there for lunch & she woke up screaming and choking, but she was ok after a quick cuddle. Does a half hour nap still mean OT?

Anyway, she was fine in the afternoon & then was very tired for tea etc so we went for early BT at 6.35. She fell asleep straight away & slept until nearly 7.30 this morning. Although she coughed a lot in what seems to be a bad time for her at the moment - 12.45 - 1.30am, she didn't wake up other than to replugged her dummy and didn't need us.

Today she slept for 1hr45 mins from 12.20.

What do you think I should be setting her A at? Or should I just go with the flow a bit until she's fully well?

It looks like 5 hours is suiting her at the moment, so I probably would set it there, at least until she's better. If her naps start to shorten once she is better then push it out.

She went to sleep last night at 7.20 and slept really well until unfortunately she woke us at 4am vomiting green and yellow mucus :-( poor poppet.

We've been to the docs & she has a chest infection so she's got some antibiotics. I guess it'll be a few days before we're back on track. She had a 20 min nap sitting upright on DH's lap before we went out to the doctors & she's sleeping again now. Presumably I should just follow signs today & head for a normal BT & then hope for the best?

Ah poor little mite and poor Mammy  :'( Yes, absolutely Honey, rest rest and more rest whenever she needs it. Not sure there's any other way when a LO is so poorly. I'll be here when she's well again  ;)

Hi Vicki, I don't really know whether to start a new thread or continue with this one. E is definitely better from her infection & we've finished the course of antibiotics. However, her sleep has been crazy.

E stayed at y parents house twice last week, once without me (thurs) & then one day with me (fri). She slept really well both nights, even resettling at 6am on sat morning & sleeping until 7.30. Then the last couple of days have gone crazy again. Sat night she was awake for three hours from about midnight & eventually settled when we put white noise on. Last night she did the same - although we also gave her some calpol as she'd had very red cheeks in the day & woken from her nap crying loudly at 30mins. I have no idea what to do now!

Hi Hun, oh gosh 3 hour NW that is rough  :'( Can I ask are you giving her meds as soon as she wakes up  ??? If not I would. Have you been following her lead when she was poorly, or has there been any kind of routine in place  ??? Do you plan to go back to 5 hours A time before her nap  ??? TBH it does look to me like she is in discomfort so I would suspect teeth, but often there is more than 1 thing at play ie: teething and OT. If the pain wakes her the OT could make it difficult for her to resettle I guess. For the teething if you raise her up with a couple of pillows under the mattress it can help, because when lying down the blood pools and the pressure builds in the head.

It is up to you whether you start a fresh thread Hun, whatever you prefer  ;) I'm still here to hold your hand if you want to stick with this one, but I know fresh eyes and a run down of the story so far can be helpful.

(Hugs)

Thanks Vicky, we've been doing a 5 hour A for a few days. Even when she was poorly she only wanted one nap a day. She's just not a big sleeper it seems, too full of beans!

Some days she seems exhausted at around 5ish but no matter what I do she doesn't want to take a CN

Today she slept for one hour 20 mins after 5hrs A but I had to settle her at the half hour point as she cried out & couldn't find her dummy as it had got wedged underneath her. I also used the white noise again & I had given her calpol about half an hour beforehand. As she woke at about 1.30 I'm going to aim for 6.30 BT to see if that's any better.

Well 6.30BT hasn't worked as she's in her cot chattering and squealing to herself. Is this likely to be UT/OT? I just feel a bit lost really.
