My son will be 8 months on Christmas and up until now, he has been doing amazingly well after we finally got him caught up on sleep from four months of colicky crud. Instead of a constantly crabby boy we have a well rested, well adjusted happy boy! Thank you for all of your help!
So...we are now having issues with his first nap so I checked the threads for sample EASY schedules for his age and it was saying anywhere from 2 hours 45 minute A times to 3 hours 15 minutes and that is exactly what we have been doing...everything like clockwork.
He has been doing amazingly well but the last week he has been waking early from his first nap...but he lays there and talks, rubs his eyes and eventually passes back out. I love it because he sleeps 45 minutes, wakes, does his little wind down routine again and then goes back to sleep for another 45 minutes to another hour and a half which means I get TONS more work done. I feel like something is off...and even though I would love these long naps to continue-I want to adjust so he continues doing well with EASY.
He is finally giving us clear sleepy signals (hallelujiah!!!) and he definitely lets us know when it is time for bed. He sleeps 11 hours straight with only one waking for his paci which we will address eventually!
I did push his A time back to 3 hours 15 minutes slowly over the last few days and he is still waking early...the afternoon naps are never a problem. Its just the morning nap...he generally takes 1 hour 30 min nap in the afternoon to as long as a three hour nap. It varies day to day...he doesn't seem to be teething but is on the butt end of a growth spurt...is this relatively normal for this age?
He is on wonder week 35 and has been slightly irritable as we definitely see he is trying to get more mobile. Any suggestions would be great!
Our EASY is very scheduled. He wakes and from the time I get him out of his crib he is up for 3 hours or a smidge more and then back down....his awake time does vary so I cannot give you exact times....
Thanks!
