1st nap
«

Hiya ladies,
I have a 9 week old DS. His first nap of the day is ALWAYS 30 mins. I put him down 1hr after he wakes up, I do this because I know that at this age their awake time is 1 hour and 20 min.
What can I do to extend his first nap?
TIA

Maybe he is on the low side of A times? Have you tried pulling it back just a bit? Does he resettle? Does he wake up happy or mad? I would *think* he could handle around 1hr20 maybe a tad more but as that 30 is usually OT maybe not. How are his nights?

Hello Maryn. Thanks for your reply. I've tried to resettle him but he doesn't go back to sleep. He wakes up happy but complains after awhile. I'm going to try and have him down after 45 mins awake time
His nights are hit and miss. He sometimes will wake up every 4 hours. Other times he'll be up every 1.5 hours - 2 hours. I've realised though that if he has a lot of naps during the day it steals from his night sleep and he will wake up more frequently.

I'm just wondering, how long should I let DS nap at a time ?

I think generally speaking 2 hours is the longest most people would let them go. HTH!
