45min naps...Extending A times...questions
« on: February 14, 2013, 04:04:10 am »
My daughter has been on EASY for over a month and she has  just hit her 4mo GS.  We have been struggling with 45 minute naps for a few weeks and I have tried to increase her A times this past week and a half.  It has been  rocky and we have made very little progress but the  last 2 days she has woken from her 1st nap of the day after her 1st sleep cycle and has been able to sooth  herself back to  sleep....I'm flabbergasted!!!  I have a good feeling about this 1st nap of the day but it's the rest that I'm a bit curious about.  What A  times  do I go with after the 1st nap of the day?  Will things just fall into place after the GS?  She will only have her 45 minutes naps for the rest of the day.  How do we get to those nice 1 1/2 hr - 2 hr naps?  Is that possible during  a GS?  She is waking up from her naps happy and  ready  to go....even  the 45 minute ones!!!  I want her to get restorative sleep but is that even possible right now?  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

What does your EASY look like right now? My guess is she needs a bit more A time after the first good nap of he day. Yay for resettling all by herself! ;D

You do need to be a bit more flexible during a GS and often times things can fall back into place after it's done, but 4-6mo is a tough time in general for napping, so don't be too upset if it doesn't magically get better.
