It's so tempting to switch to 1 nap cold turkey

I am going to try for a 7 bt tonight. Thanks!

I would definitely hang on to two naps a while longer. We were on a 1.5hr morning nap and a 30 min PM nap for months before moving to one nap.

I agree. There are more than a couple moms on here that have wished they wouldn't have pushed to one nap quite so fast. It will just be a matter of getting the EASY right for one long nap and a CN and it will be worth it.

Unfortunately, as with most things baby-related it is a case of trial and error. What worked for us may not necessarily be right for you, if your LO doesn't handle OT well for example. You can only try it and see. Good luck.

Thanks for your support. I'm going to try to stick with the same routine till Tuesday and see what happens. She woke at 450 this morning and I was like NOooo!! But it was a 5 second babble the awake at 545 and she is in her crib quiet babbling maybe falling back asleep ?!?

I now remember how much 3-2 sucked. I really don't enjoy the catnap thing and trying to figure out bt.

Yesterday was
Ew 515 out of crib 620
S 10-1130 I had to wake her for appt
S 3-4 I woke her

Bed 730

The pm nap was no ap!! She is now starting to sound a little more hyper. I think that her short nights are making her ot. It's so annoying as I know she can do 11-12 hr nights and why the drastic change so fast!?

Ok so she slept 730-530 happy waking started fussing at 615. I went in and tried to rock her and she slept till 715. Took maybe 5-10 mins of rocking. I don't know what to do for the morning nap was 10 but she hasn't been sleeping in. So we were going with set naps but the past few days she ha been up between 515-545 and slept a good nap at 10. Likely so exhausted she sleeps thru ot I think.

Any thoughts on what to today?

We were trying to stick with this plan till tomorrow then try something else. So here is where I'm confused. Lets say she wakes at 530 tomorrow and I'm able to ap to a wake of 7. Should I move our set nap out by 15 mins every few days OR should I just try an 11 ish nap since I know that she can handle being up for 4 hrs?!? If I do 11-1230/1 then what do I do for a CN? 4-430 then bed at 730?

Please help!!

Personally I would do 11-12.30 and a CN at 4 yes. I wouldn't let her have 2 hrs in the AM or she may refuse the CN until too late in the day.

I think the problem with your set nap time being at 10 is that it only really works when you do start the day really early. When we did set naps I always set them at a time that would have been appropriate for our desired wake up. So if 7 is your desired WU and you sometimes get that I think an 11am nap would be better. It does depend how well your LO handles OT though. If pushing her after an EW will result in a short nap you can't extend then. Hat probably wouldn't work for you.

Ok thanks. We did 1030 nap and it was 1.5 hrs.

Do you think to try to get on track I should ap ew to get to 7 then put her down at 11 or do I need to work up to that? I just don't want to get those nasty ot short naps. Previous to Xmas we never did set naps so I don't know how to move them due to the ew? I guess not if she is handling ew at 530 and not going down till 11?
W 7
S 11-1230
S 4-430
B 730

Does this seem fair to try to get back on track?

With the nap moving later I'm also wondering what ppl do for eating?
Bottles are at 7,1145,4,715 and solids an hour later so I was going to try to move to 3. Do most ppl give early lunch then bottle after waking then a snack before CN to tie them over till dinner?

That sounds good to me about the bottles and solids but tbh I didn't FF so stuck with 4 milk feeds a bit longer. I think it depends on how much solid food your LO eats as to whether she will be able to cope with waiting until after the nap for her second bottle.

Seeing as how she did a good nap at 10.30 today after a 7am WU I would maybe stick with that nap time for a week or so and then push it 15 mins later and then 15 mins later again after another week. Then you can tackle the AP at 5am issue perhaps? Sounds like things are going well :)

Maybe push the pm nap to 4.30 and the BT to 8? I know we always had a 13hr day for a while before dropping to one nap at 12mo with DS1. Only then did he go back to sleeping 12hrs (plus a 3hr nap) and he was always high sleep needs.

Also I don't know how your day looks activity-wise but at the end of the 2 naps stage I always planned our day so that we were leaving to walk home from somewhere with the buggy at CN time so that it didn't mean we were stuck home spending time getting him down for a 30min nap. He slept in the buggy and finished off at home and then I woke him for dinner, bath and bed. Maybe something similar would take the stress out of it for you too?

An 8 bt is fine but right now that pm nap is happening at 315ish. It was 3pm I pushed it to 315 yesterday and she woke at 350 hysterical. But her nose was really running yesterday afternoon so not sure if it was cuz if the push or something else.
We had a longer night last night!
Yesterday was NW 530-615
Ap 620-715 I think? Didn't have my phone with me
W 715
S 1015-1145
S 315-350
B 700
W 555

So almost 11 hrs. Ideally I would prefer 630/7 wake up but I'm hoping it comes back. So I guess those pushed out naps helped plus the pm nap was shorter. Do I just keep to what we did yesterday and see if she sleeps in? I was doing a pm nap of 50 min to 1 hr so I'm scared that the sudden cut could make her ot.
She really won't sleep in the stroller but I could make sure we are out in the car for the pm nap it would be less stressful :)

Ok I was thinking of the PM nap time after you get to the 11am morning nap.

A cold always meant my two wanted to sleep more so things may be off a little for her at the moment and you may need to go on cues for a bit in case she needs shorter A times.

Ok.  That's my goal....to get to that 11 am nap.

Put her down at 1015 again today and she woke happy at 1125. Weird since she was up at 6 and out of crib at 630. Will try 1015 one more day then push to 1030ish.

She just has a runny nose. The odd cough in her sleep but still I guess it's enough to be bothersome.
