Short naps and staying on EASY...HELP!
« on: March 04, 2013, 15:24:09 pm »
Hi All, my DD is 15 wks and her naps have been just horrible for the past 2 months no matter what I do and how consistent I am with her A times, wind down routine, EVERYTHING (BW would have been proud). The only chance I get to have a nap longer than 30-40 is if I get to her before she completely wakes up and just pat and pat and pat. After 1.5 months of this and a 22 mos old toddler DS who needs to be entertained somehow in the meantime, I have about lost my mind. Anyway, since I just can't continue extending naps like this for my own sanity and for my toddler's, what do I do about staying on schedule with feeds (I EBF)? For example, now she woke up after 30 min and her next feed isnt till 2 hrs from now, what to do? No point in me to even try to post her EASY because it's all over the place :(. She will be 4 months on the 15th and I am trying to get her to the 4 hr EASY so now i am trying to do 3.5 hrs, which hunger-wise she can totally handle, but sleep-wise.... PLEASE HELP!!!!

I should mention that I try to cap her A time @ 1h40 min. Honestly, just losing my mind.

It's very hard to say what could be wrong with her routine without seeing one ;). I understand it's all over the place, but if you could log a couple of days then it will already give a lot of information. It sounds like her A time now is a bit too short and that could be a reason why she is short napping, but I can't really tell without see a routine.
Not many BF babies get to 4h gaps between feeds and it's ok not to look so much at the clock and feed her sometime during her A time when she seems hungry. So your EASY will look like this: EASAEAS.
