Omg my 7month has become a nightmare!
« on: March 18, 2013, 22:49:07 pm »
He has been his own room for around 3 weeks and that has gone well. Last week or so he's had a virus so has been very unsettled and has cried in the night so we've co sleep from around midnight. Last 2 days he's been a lot better so trying to get him back in routine which usually looks like this:

6am wake and bf
7am breakfast
9am nap until 10.30 then bf
11.30 lunch
1.30 nap until 3 then bf
6 bath, bf, bed
2 bf

Daytime today is back to normal except he slep 2 hrs at first nap. My problem is that he has become so clingy with me. He goes down to sleep sleepy but awake and puts himself to sleep properly. However he is now waking a lot and will not be re settled! What can I do? Is this perhaps because he's still not 100% and should I just go with it until he lets me know he's back to normal? He does wake crying even when in my bed!

Help!

I'd give it a little longer til he's feeling better. Often babies aren't actually back to being themselves until about a week or so after mum thinks they are and all the issues mum is finding just disappear.

Its also possible he's starting separation anxiety a little earlier than average - here are some tips: Tips for seperation anxiety

Thanks so far he has been a lot better this evening! But I have been wondering about seperation anxiety as he has started crying when anyone else holds him... I wasn't sure if it was just him being unwell! Will read the link thanks

There is stranger anxiety as well, which is slightly different: Stranger Anxiety-5 months+
