Mmm I'm confused. He settled beautifully at BT :) in cot drowsy after feed and nodded off. (6.10) but woke coughing 30 mins later. He kept re stirring on and off frequently till 9pm :o my gut says he was uncomfortable as he wasnt trying to get me to pick him up, just couldn't settle YK? Wriggly, coughing, spitting the paci.

We then had NF 11,4 and again unsettled sleep till 6.00 got him up at 6.30 - today will likely be a write off :-\

He is still very fussy on the milk which doesn't help. I think he prefers just solids!

Siiigghhh...so now he settles at BT but wakes after 30-45 mins. I am sure it's a bit of tummy pain because of his behaviour but still. When will it end! On a positive note though last night we did 1 NF at 11 and he STTN till 5.30 :)

Wonky day now but best night in ages

Was thinking to get him up at 6, take day from 5.45 and do 2hrs 45 A and try pd at 8.30 .-\ what do you think?

Good night!  Ugh on the post-BT WUs though.....is he difficult to settle when he wakes?

8.30am nap sounds good for today.  Even if you count actual A it's 3h and J needed that by this age :)

I think he can do 3 but it's just that nudging YK?
He was ok to settle. PU in end and he did a huge toot so I think it's digestive.
Hoping things just start to gradually improve now - though DLS will throw a spanner in the works ( I have another post on that in EAS!)

Poops...
He did 1hr20 so UT. I couldn't for the life of me rock him back to sleep. Then now he couldn't last 3 hrs to 1pm. Got him to 12.40.

Looks like today is a bust. I'm adamant not to do CN though so ill try to get him as close to 3 as I can then 6pm BT.

Tomorrow ill push that first A more. I think I've cracked it hopefully and he needs 2hrs45 first and second A then 3 for last. ...

Update. For his second nap he slept 40 mins then screaming and would.not settle. I got myself in a silly state too and rocked him for far too long before he dropped off and did 1 hr. I'm going mad I tell you!

So in you opinion have. I massive OT? Should I go back to trying a CN? Or do you think I just keep pushing for now? I'm starting to feel lost in this - we get a good day, a terrible day a good day an ok day terrible day YK?

I don't think massive OT honey, maybe just a bit OT today.  Your nights are generally good and if he was really OT you wouldn't get a nice settled 1h20 nap first thing.  More likely it would be broken.  Remember the OT is inevitable during the 3-2, especially just after dropping the CN, but it will settle :). Well done on the resettle even if it drove you a bit loopy!

I'm loosing it :( I got like this over Z sleep too. Ugh...

BT was ok, he settled at 3 hrs and then woke at 50 mins into sleep. Longest in ages, usually 30 mins. I also think he's teething :-\ so maybe, just maybe it's a bit of that too not just me knowing nothing about when to pd for naps ::)

Problem is I think we're going backwards in a way. DH keeps picking T up when he stirs because it's sooo much easier an he lets us when it's into the night. Baby steps I guess

Feeling better today. DH did the NW/NF and I took 1/2 sleeping pill ( I have terrible sleep issues myself ie lie awake all night long ::) ) so...I feel fresh :)
T did
BT 6.20
NW 7.10 on and off till 7.40 when DH PU and held till 8
NF 11 and 3.30 (wouldn't settle at 3.30 so fed)
WU 6.40 :) (heard at 5.40 but back to sleep on his own)

Much better time for 2 nap day.

One question though. Do you think feeding at 3/4 is a bad idea? - the reasons we do are
- his intake is terrible during the day
- it's easier than resettling :P

I think a feed at that time is fine :). It's more than 4h since the last feed and if his intake isn't great in the day he could be genuinely hungry.  Two night feeds is well within normal for his age. I think my feeling about night feeds was that if they persisted beyond 8 months or so when LO was firmly established on solids including protein, then I'd do something active to wean them, but until that point I'd continue.

Thank you for the reassurance :-*
Today he did 2.5 hr A (I went back to what worked last time)
Nap 9.10 stirred at 50 mins, resettled in 5 and just woke at 10.55
I think a slightly UT nap I can extend. OT I struggle with. I know he needs a touch more but I'm really nervous about it so will just do 5 min increases I think. Tomorrow ill do 2.35 first up.

I'm really stoked he will go to sleep in the cot, even if it's really drowsy at BT and sometimes I have to shh/hum and pat, jiggle. :)

Been following along but haven't got enough recent experience to add much.

It is fabulous that he is going to sleep in the cot! Well done you!!

Thanks honey! Mostly it feels like we're not making progress :(  . But then I compare now with a month ago when we were rocking him into a deep sleep after him fighting us for hours (total time for us 2-3 hrs :o ) to now where he settles at BT, but wakes within the hour and has unsettled sleep the next hour I think we have made some progress.

Last night he didn't want DH to hold him much, DH thinks he had gas, lots of toots and wriggling, stiffening while half asleep. It's like we have left over colic from a month ago ::)

Night was great though
1 NF 1am :)
WU 5.30 booo...fluffed in cot till 6 where I fed and he fell back asleep 6.15-6.40

So ill start the day from 6.40 and hope the stars are aligned as I have both boys all day today do I can't spend time in his room extending.

Question...if he's on ~2hrs30/45 for his first few As if he short naps ie 30-45 mins would you cut back 30 mins or so? - or more?
