My 6mo as finally got better with her sleep problems but I think I'm getting her A periods wrong as she keeps waking at 45 mins during naps. Sometimes I can resettle her sometimes not.

Schedule as follows

0615 wake and bottle then activity
0715-0730ish solids then activity and wind-down
0830 nap 1
1030 wake and bottle (if she stays down for full nap or resettles) then activity
1130-1145ish solids then activity and wind down
1245 nap 2
245 wake and bottle (if she stays down for full nap then activity
1730 bath*
1800 bottle and bed

* she really struggles to stay up for bath time as gets very tired by the time bed arrives. I can't manage to fit in a catnap (and understand you tend to drop it by 6 months) in her routine but worry that this serious tiredness before bed could have knock-on effect elsewhere??

I upped A times from2 hrs to 2.15 some time ago and it worked for a while but then stopped. So tried upping to 2.30 and still having problems she also seems to be getting tired around 2hr-2.15 mark...?

Also just to add I realise 6.15 is quite an early start but it happened after she was ill a week or so ago and I figure it's worth just going with it for a week or so as our clocks change on Sunday so we will automatically change then!! :)

my kid was a 5am girl at this age so 615 is lovely to me ;)

I would push her first A time a touch more hun... she's UT for sure and it's just causing some OT over the day... Push her out to 2 hrs 30 for that first A time for a few days, then push to 2 hrs 45 if her naps are still not quite right.

If she short naps for the first nap and won't resettle, be sure to reduce her next A time a touch to keep OT under control.

Kara  - thanks so much for your reply. I was perplexed as she was showing tired signs around the 2h 15 mark. But I think you were spot on - I kept her up and put her down at 2h 30 on the dot this morning 1h 25 nap straight. Brilliant! Thanks again!

Xx

Thanks so much for checking up on us Kara - so sorry not to reply sooner but we've been away over the Easter break.

So first nap has been going very well, she did 2hours yesterday (nit sure if thats allowed on 4hour easy as it pusjed her late for her late for second feed.  It main issue now is having trouble with second nap. She keeps waking up at 30 minutes.  Goes down really well but wakes early. cant fidgure out if OT ot UT... I'm then struggling with fitting bedtime in so it's not seriously early or she's not really overtired.  I think I need to get a catnap in later on but am not sure when!!

Easy now along lines of:

0630 wake and eat solids 1 hour later
0900 nap
1030 wake and eat solids 1 hour later
1300 nap (wakes 1330 and I spend quite some time trying to resettle her usually then gets up about 1415/1430)
1430 feed
This is where I get stuck - do I put her down for a catnap at 5 wwhich would push bedtime to much later??
1730 bath
1815 bottle then bed by about 1830

Any help on sorting out our messy afternoons would be wonderful!!
