Thanks for help again ladies.

When would I wake him? Today he woke at 8am and skipped his nap ::)

He was knocked out by 6:30pm :-/

I'd have him up by 7am and BT at 8pm.  And tbh I'd 'force' a nap if there is refusal at this age.  So, very strong wind down routine and AP if necessary to get the nap habit back into place.

We had a nap refusal today, first 'real' one ever :o it was OT from day before being a NND and OS at his nanas. So hard as it was I did what I would do if it was at BT and pretty much forced the nap. It was rubbish. Lots of crying, and a short OT nap which my toddler NEVER does anymore.

But, I know as a result of that tomorrow he will hopefully be back on track ... I not, then I know we're well in truly in 1-0 (but Z is a lot older ;) )

He refuses the nap when he sleeps in.

When do they transition frm 1-0?

Well, he did wake at 6:30am, took a good 2-2.5 nap, and we pd at 7:30pm...still stayed up.

At 20 mths I'd be capping that nap at 1.5-2 hrs once he's caught up. Don't be afraid of a later nap either :-*

Well, I did do the later nap, but he wakes later which pushes his BT later.

I have tried to cap it at 1.5-2hrs and its still enough. I wonder what's going on here! It's odd. And lately he's been really really naughty. Hyper too....but I'm wondering if he's showing terrible twos symptoms. Lol. Tantrums for any and all things. Ha!

It's just weird :-/

Have you tried the same BT? - Z would do a later nap but same BT as he has got older. The longer first A time makes him just as tired come BT

I agree on the set BT.  No matter how late my DS napped BT stayed the same.

'Naughtiness' and tantrums can often be a sign of tiredness and over tiredness.  Inability to cope with the frustrations of a normal day and having a meltdown over apparently small things, less cooperative, less happy in general.  Even with a long nap if the night is short he will get OT.  IMO it calls for a strong regular routine with set nap and bed times and BT time need to be at a reasonable time to allow for a good night.  Plus waking in the morning at a set time to keep the day regular.  Once he is better rested his mood will likely improve.
