Being realistic about where dd2 has first nap...
« on: May 24, 2013, 19:22:36 pm »
I want to implement a better EASY routine for dd2, but I'm a bit worried about the need for all naps to be indoors. Up until now, dd2 has had her first nap in the car seat as we go out pretty much every day between 9:30 and 11:30 - her first nap is generally 9:00-10:30/11:00.

I guess I'd like to hear from others who have been successful at implementing EASY with 2nd children whilst still going out in the mornings.

I don't have a second :) but how old is she?
I would say that if she has a good nap in the pram, a restorative 1.5-2h nap then there is no problem with it at all. Do you feel that it's causing you problems?

I agree with this.  DS always did at least one of his naps in the car seat, there was just no way around it.  It gets tricky juggling schedules, so if it's not causing you any trouble, I wouldn't worry about it.

I agree, too. If it's working for you it's fine. I might shoot for once or twice a week getting that nap in the crib just for when you want to transition to that (if you ever do, I guess!). But roll with it if it's working. Mine started refusing to sleep anywhere other than the crib around 3 or 4 months for more than 15 or 20 min so I'm jealous!

My DD2 always does her first nap in the car too as we drive DD1 everyday to school. She naps for 30min (the drive is 10min but I usually stay in the car so she sleeps longer).
Is so hard to adjust an ideal EASY routine with 2 LOS and always on the go.
Don't worry about it, it is how it is and she'll get used to it.

Thanks, all - a few days in and I have relaxed a bit. It's good to know that others just go with the flow!
