Struggling with A time
« on: June 12, 2013, 09:33:25 am »
Hi my lo is 7 mo 2 wks and I have recently started prolonging his A time so as we get longer naps. With trial and error I have found that 3hrs 10 mins has worked the best, giving 1hr 45 naps. However I really struggle to keep him awake for this long, especially the first A time, he is whingy & fed up after about 2.5 hours but if i let him nap then we only get 30-40 min naps & I have to keep rocking him back to sleep to get him to nap longer. Any ideas? Ta x

When we were extending A times, I would often walk around the house with my LOs towards the end of the longer A time -- the change in scenery seemed to help them from getting too upset.  I'd also usually end up in their rooms for the last 15 minutes or so with some low-key toys and low light.
