Oh just another random thought - birds! The birds around here are SO loud in the morning at the moment, I've had to turn up the white noise in the kids room. They are CHEEPING right outside the windows and it's hard to sleep through!

I haven't noticed any birds honestly! But I will pay more attention to that tomorrow morning!
So for every 15 minute push I should wait a week?

I think you have to judge it based on your little one. My faughteti would probably push quite quickly  - or even go cold turkey - then hold there for a week. If he's sure sensitive/touchy/bad with OTthen you news to go slower but I'd set a new routine, get into it as quick as you feel you reasonably can, then hold there for at least a week. Tbh at this age 15 mins here or thee is t going to be the end of the world like it would be with a 20 week old.

Just wondering - what kind of white noise do you use? We have never used any, but I'm not against it, just afraid that since he isn't used to it it would actually bother him more than help him?

We've got an mp3 track of a tumble drier that fades in and out at the beginning and end that we play on a loop

Where did you get it? Is that something you recorded yourself? If I get something like that, should I turn it on before he goes to bed or only once he is asleep since he isn't used to it? Will it no t bother him to get to sleep?

I got it of a baby sleep sounds CD, sure you'll find loads of similar tracks to download if you have a look. 'Rain' would be a good one, sure he has slept through the sound of heavy rain before ?! You could have it on low while he falls asleep and turn it up when you go to bed? I'm sure all but the most touchy would be fine with white noise, it's just like sleeping in a car or on a plane or in a rainstorm - your brain ignores the white noise!

I guess I should give it a try then! Who knows, maybe he will sleep better? Do you put it on quite loud?

It needs to be loud enough that it will drown or muffle external noises - maybe you and DH will have to experiment a bit to get it to the right level. My experience is that it doesn't have to be very loud to achieve this, but obviously that depends on what noises it's competing with!

We have a dex white noise machine. It has several different sounds and plays 1 hr or constant. We have it set on ocean. I love it!

A few weeks have gone by and we were in a bit of a mess with naps because of sickness, OT, and so on.

I am pretty sure Liam needs about 11.5hrs at night after a 2.5hr nap. My problem is:
For the past month and a half we have been doing set nap at 12 and BT at 7. WU would be between 530-6, which I found to be OT. I eventually brought BT back to 630 and we now get 11.5hr night. I have tried a 12 hr day but don't get more that 11hr20 at night which makes WU even earlier. Anyways, the problem is that Liam is exhausted by 12. I can tell by his tired signs that he would prefer an A time of 4.5-5hrs in the morning but a nap at 1030/11 is not doable for us as we are not home a few times a week because of classes that were scheduled ahead of time. I need to keep the nap at 12 but somehow move WU to 7 and BT to 730. If I do BT at 730 after a 6am WU he is so OT he wakes even earlier. And if I keep him in his cot until 7 it makes no difference as he will not fall back asleep and for him time in the cot is the same as A time.

What are my options??

It sounds like you've tried everything. My advice would be to let him have that earlier nap for a while so that he's not OT (yes it may mean skipping classes) and THEN try moving his whole day back by 15 mins at a time so later nap later bedtime. Like you would with clock changes (daylight savigns)

Ok so how many days do I need to wait before I do each 15 min push? Just trying to figure out what to do about scheduling...

I can't answer that - depends how he's handling it! You could probably go quite quickly. How did you do with the clock change in spring?

I didn't really need to go through it because we were in the midst of 2-1 and our routine was a mess! I don't even know what our routine was then... ::)
