Short nap during the 2-1 Transition
« on: July 10, 2013, 04:19:31 am »
Hello! My 15 month old twins just went down to one nap. I had been capping their naps for a couple of months and decided it was time to move to one nap. They have been sleeping in a little bit later, which has made this transition a bit easier. My concern is that one of my twins will sometimes only nap 1 hour and 15 minutes/1 hour and 30 minutes (she has done 2 hour naps a couple of times). If she has a short nap, she soon becomes very cranky and I sometimes have to put her back down for a quick cat nap. She will sometimes wake up from her nap, cry for a bit, then go back to sleep. My other twin will do a 2-3 hour nap.

I assumed that moving to one nap would mean one long nap (2-3 hours). We have been doing an early bedtime and they both sleep 12-13 hours at night. It has only been about 2 weeks. Will the long nap fall into place?

This is a rough outline of our day (wake time can vary, changing nap time):
7:45-wake
12:15/12:30-nap
7:00-bedtime
