wakes up at 6am.... how can I stretch this out
« on: July 29, 2013, 12:21:03 pm »
my 14 month old son wakes up at 6am no matter what I do. It is honestly driving me crazy. He wakes up his older brother (who used to sleep until 8am) and requires lunch by 11am and then nap time. I know some people are just going to say that this is his natural biorhythm, but I am hoping for some suggestions on how to change his schedule to make this at least 7am......

here is his schedule....

6am wakes up..... Mommy tries to put him off until 7am
7am = 6oz bottle
8am = cereal and fruit
11am = lunch time
Noon = 4oz bottle and nap time
Usually sleeps for 1hr45min - 2hrs (because he is so tired from getting up early)
3pm = snack time
5pm = dinner time
6:30pm = pajamas, books, bottle and bed.
Usually sleeping by 7pm.
10pm = bum change & dream feed (weaning off this because he usually only takes 2-3oz)

any suggestions to get him to sleep longer in the morning would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you

His routine looks pretty reasonable tbh.

You could try shifting everything (ie whole routine) by a 15 min increment every few days to see if that can help shift WU.  Like you would do with a clock change.

What do you think?
