How to break the swaddling habit
« on: August 30, 2013, 00:24:07 am »
Hi everyone. Just wanted to ask for any advice on how to break the swaddling habit. We used the miracle blanket but my LO outgrew it and gets out of it and all the other blankets (she is 4.5 months). I know she is supposed to self sooth herself by sucking her hand but she wakes herself up and won't stop crying or go back to sleep unless I reswaddle. We tried leaving 1 hand out but she still wakes herself up by sucking it. She doesn't take pacifier either. I don't know what to do anymore. I know loose blankets are unsafe and I know that it is better for her development to sleep unswaddled at this age so she can move around at night but we are stuck. Thanks in advance.

Hello again :)

I don't know much about swaddling but thought I would add a link, which may give you some ideas - found it in the PROPS section.

Good luck!
