hi everyone
my baby girl is 3.5 months.
in the begining she used to sleep only in my arms and wake everytime i put her down. thank gd i discovered the swaddeling and that helped a lot. i swaddle her, put her in her crib with a blanky next to her cheek, pacifire...and after a few mins i turn her over and thats how it used to be good... she was taking 2 naps of 2-3 hours and another short one in the afternoon... in the past two weeks she wakes after 40 min of napping...she waked up very tired and that makes her fussy...please help... thank you:)

Hi there,

Short naps could be an indication of her needing more A time - so that she's tired enough to sleep longer. Could you please post your EAS?

Thank you for answering...her a time is about an hour and 15 mins... and even that is a stretch... i feel that after45-50 mins of a time shes already getting tired

At 3.5months, you would be looking at 3.5 EASY. I have attached some links for you to look at.

Time to Transition - 3hr, 3.5hr or 4hr EASY
Average A times- BOOKMARK ME!

Let me know if you have any other questions :)

Layla, I have read your reply to this post and also thelink you atached, " time to transition..." I have a question: what is the relationship between the need to give more time between feedings and erratic nw? Is it that the baby doesnt eat well so he is more hungry at night?
Sorry to get in the middle, I just didnt want to open anoter topic to ask ths.
Thank you!

No worries hon, here is a link that will explain night wakings (feeding is covered there too) 10 reasons (other than hunger) a baby can wake at night - I got it from the NW FAQ's  :)

My personal challenge is that although my 4 month old sleeps through the night decently, he doesn't wake up at a consistent time. So, I feed him when he wakes up, which could be anywhere from 5:30 - 7:30. I try to do the 4 hour EASY, but his naps are only 40 minutes which completely throws off everything. PLUS, the 4 hour EASY is inconsistent due to the inconsistent wake up time. Any help would be really appreciated! One other thing, because he isn't sleeping enough during the day, he keeps pushing for an earlier and earlier bedtime...I have to deal with tons of crankiness to get him to have a bedtime of 6 to 6:30.
