I pretty much never woke her up.  I can count on 1 hand the number of times she's slept in, so on those very rare occasions, I slept in too!!  Honestly, once we find a good routine, she does seem to regulate somewhat so if she slept in or took long nap, I let her bc I figured she either needed a catchup for whatever reason, or was getting sick.

At that age, we did:

W 7:00
Nap 12:30 to 2:30
Bed 7:30pm

If she woke earlier than 7am, I left her in her cot til 7am.  If it was super early, I would keep the morning very low key to make it to the set nap time.  But, she was usually able to deal with long morning A times usually without too much issue.  We counted 5hrs from nap to bed bc that's when she was prone to OT and I can't deal with a disrupted night  ;)  If she did a 1.5 hr nap, I'd put her down at 7pm.  If she slept 3hrs, I'd put her down between 8 and 8:30.  I'd probably have an active afternoon to wear her out and hope to have her down @ 8pm.  Eventually, I nudged her nap to 1pm so lunch wasn't so rushed, probably around 2.5.  I started setting the nap time for my sanity and honestly, we kept a very similar routine until 6 mos. ago when she dropped the nap.  Yes, we had EWs or short naps or an occasional super early nap or bt, but overall I found that she was able to regulate herself if we stayed consistent.  Doesn't work for every bub though! Just a matter of trial and error..

hmmm...  An 8-6 night would be for sure OT for us.  Could you spend a day or 2 just trying to get her caught up?  An early, and hopefully long nap and an early bt.  Once she's caught up, she could hopefully handle the set times better.

What A time has worked in the past for bt?

I would definitely do an earlier nap and let her sleep as long as she wants...

Any clue how many hours of sleep she needs in 24 hrs?

glad she got a pretty good nap.  I'd probably watch cues for bt... But probably shoot for 6:30.

What's happening when she wakes mid-nap and you resettle?  I noticed that's happened a couple times.

Thanks grace annes mommy. Went for 6.30 bt- pd at 6.25 and asleep at 6.35 tg! lets.hope 4h Pm.a is the magic number on.a 2.5h nap. If nap.is shorter should.i.also shorten a to bt? i think.this is where i keep going wrong...

Re resettling naps ive mainly been.doing that since starting set naps when am is 6h+. she starts to make.noises and i shush her over monitor for a few.mins and shell.go back to sleep.if i dont shes up and ready to wake...dyt i shouldnt be doing this?

Fingers crossed for a long night!

I think knowing she needs appx. 14hrs can help us sort out the set times a bit better once she's not OT.

Personally, I probably wouldn't go under 4 hrs for a pm A time.  It seems like it can so easily lopside the day, kwim?  Like too easy for the day to creep earlier and earlier?  With my DD, I was (am still) able to do really looong WDs to try to curb some of the OT/OS.  Long bath, extra books, etc.  Is that a possibility?

Re resettling naps ive mainly been.doing that since starting set naps when am is 6h+. she starts to make.noises and i shush her over monitor for a few.mins and shell.go back to sleep.if i dont shes up and ready to wake...dyt i shouldnt be doing this?

I think that's fine.  Was just asking in case she was waking out of discomfort or something had become a prop.  She's likely just OT and if you can just sush her over the monitor, I think that's pretty easy!

Yay for the good night!

I would watch cues closely today.  She might need another catch up day.  If she's happy, you can try to get her to 12:30, but I think she'll probably need to go down earlier.
