32 month old nap/bedtime problems
« on: October 09, 2013, 13:11:36 pm »
I need some advice. Alfies routine used to look like this

Wake up anytime after 6.30am
Nap 1.30-3.30
Bedtime around 7-7.30

I started capping the nap as he started waking earlier so for 1.5 hours. We then started to get some nap reistance so I tried stopping the nap for a week but he got so tired, teary in the afternoons etc so I went back.

He most of the time will nap but he takes him a while to settle some days. The last few nights he has resisted bed time and not falling asleep until 8-8.30am but waking at 6am on the dot. 2 days awake he doesn't have a nap as at nursery.

So questions is shall I drop the nap cold turkey and stick with it. If so whats the stages in terms of bedtime etc?

Ideally I would like a wake up time of around 6.45-7 to tie in with his little brother. I have read a few posts some say aim for 11 hour days while dropping nap, overs say try 12h days with set bedtime which would be 7pm??

Any advice much appreciated x

Why not try capping the nap a bit more - see if a 45 mins nap will give you an easier bedtime?
