I am in dire need of help. My 13 month old refuses to sleep in his crib now. It all stated when we got back from a two week trip to Oregon. He had a bad sinus infection and was sleeping mostly on me to help keep his head elevated. After we got home, he would scream bloody murder if we put him in his crib before or after he fell asleep. This went on for three week. I would put to sleep while sitting on the edge of my bed, not to confuse him with laying down in the big bed for bedtime. Would let him fall asleep, give it 15-20 minutes then put him in his crib. Not even two minutes later is screaming. Would repeat the process, waiting 30 minutes, put him down, screams again. Finally after many nights of little to no sleep, finally called the defeat and let him sleep in my bed. I still try to get him to sleep in his crib, with a sliver of success only at nap time. I have moved his bed right next to mine, slept with his pillow a couple nights and cuddled his blankets all day with the hope he will smell me, thinking I'm still holding him.
I need help getting him back to sleeping in his own bed. We have gotten off schedulewith his sickness and cutting molars. Now that we are back to getting a one nap sschedule down, just need yo get over this hurdle.
What can I do to get him in his bed and allow me my bed back?
