We trialled our lo 3 weeks ago with yoghurt and he threw it right back up after 3hrs bless him. I was surprised how badly he reacted but its obviously a no go bless him. We've now been told to trial soy. We brought some custard type desserts and we gonna try at the weekend. Am so dreading it. What did you trial soy with?

Yes..the two older girls were mpi but fine with soy. DD3 I am not 100% sure yet. They had soy formula as babies when regular formula upset them.

DS was ok with soya at first, as was DH, but DH started reacting to soya after a couple of years and I'm pretty sure DS is now too  :(

I'm not MPI/A but I react to soya - my allergy started about 5 years after regularly having soya drinks.

So to sum up, they can be ok on it, they can be ok for a while, or they can be allergic from the start. It is always worth considering as a potential allergen!

Olly never had a reaction to soy as far as I know. I think the soy yoghurts are a good thing to trial with. Good Luck x

Hang in there, I myself was allergic till about 3-5 and after much treatment 25 years ago! I outgrew my milk allergy :)  My LO reacted to normal formula as well and has been in the hydrolized formula since.  He was tested for the milk allergy and it did not flare up.  I think when we started introducing it manifested as excema.   A dietitian we saw recommended starting dairy in this order:
Stage 1:  mcvities or digestive biscuits, scones, plain cakes without icing, , cheese breadsticks, croissant, brioche, bread.
Stage 2:cooked in oven for at least 1/2 hour
Stage 3: homemade custard, cheese on toast, cheese crisps, rice pudding
Stage 4: uncooked cheese, yogurt, ice cream, butter
Stage 5: cow's milk not heated

HOPE THIS HELPS!

We were given the same instructions for introducing milk. I was surprised to see butter and yoghurt so high on the list.
