7 week old - short naps, help!
« on: January 06, 2014, 15:31:01 pm »
Hi guys,

I have only started a sort of EASY routine last Friday, so it's all new and i am a bit all over the place.

My daughter hasn't been a great napper, perhaps only the first two weeks, but after that we'd always end up with an overtired baby-I only realised that after I started reading Tracy's book. So i have a 7 week old, who's not really used to napping in her cot or napping in general-unless it's in the buggy or car, then she can sleep for as long as 2.5 hrs. I started putting her in her cot last Friday-she protests a bit, but in general I managed to get her to fall asleep. She stays asleep for about 25-30 mins, then wakes up. I tried to get her back to sleep, but I don't really know how to go about it. Do I shhh/pat, or pick her up and what if she just keeps crying and get more upset as she did the other day?

I haven't really got a nap routine as such. I've only swaddled her once in the past and she screamed blue murder so I assumed she hates it. Should I give it a try again? She doesn't really like the paci either, but we use it to soothe her for the naps, so there's also a bit of a battle trying to get her to keep it in her mouth.

Thanks in advance....
