25 minute naps
« on: February 07, 2014, 02:15:03 am »
My daughter is almost 9 months old now.  I started PU/PD with her a couple months ago, and it helped solve her night wakings.  But she is waking at 25 minutes for every single nap.  When we first started, I tried getting her back to sleep at naptime using PU/PD.  I tried twice a day for 2 weeks and was never able to get her back to sleep.  I tried w2s a few times (both versions) and had no luck.  I was posting on the PU/PD board and someone suggested trying to increase her A time.  She is now at 4 hours A time and I would say it's helped in that maybe once every week or two she will have a nap longer than 25 minutes.  Now that her A time is up to 4 hours, I'm thinking maybe I ought to try w2s again?  What do you think?  Any suggestions would be appreciated!!  Here is her current schedule:

7:00 wake, BF
Breakfast
10:40ish BF  (not feeding to sleep)
11:00-11:25  Nap
Lunch
2:40 BF
somewhere between 3:00-3:30 Nap for 25 minutes
4:45 Dinner
6:40 BF
7:00 Bed

Any tips for HTTJ?  Thinking I should try that again.  Where exactly should I place my hands on her?   She usually falls asleep on her stomach or side.  She is not swaddled.  Should I go in at about 20 minutes?  How long should I stay for?

Is she showing tired signs before that first nap?  If she is sleeping through the night completely I would think she could do more than 3hr40min A  :-\

She's at 4 hours A time. Do you think I should keep increasing A time?  She seems cranky but I've been stretching her from about 3 hrs A time for a while now so she could still be tired out of habit I dunno.

Lol, it was a long day and I read that A time completely wrong  ;)  I would probably try increasing her morning A by 15min for a few days to see if it gets you a longer nap :)
