Maybe she has just become more efficient? That can happen suddenly - did for us. Is she taking shorter feeds, or less often?

Im not really doing the "feeding-on-demand"thing though.

Aha! Well, if it is any help I did ring the NCT breastfeeding line at around this point as his feeds had decreased markedly in length. The lady said that her children had gone down from 30 min feeds at the start to 5/8 minutes respectively!

Maybe just worth checking her weight next time as see if she's still growing OK?

Hmm. How much of a drop? Have you tried block feeding so she gets more hind milk?

I can't be sure but I think it was around this age that C became more efficient too - never 5-8 minutes but like 10-15 when he used to feed for 25-30! I would also take into consideration her injections. C was 'off' for about a week after each set.

Is she having normal number of wet nappies?  Any signs of teething? (J already had her first one by this age!). Cold/runny nose symptoms?

What's block feeding?!
Well,she was 75th percentile at 5wks,50th at 9&13wks
&now is just above 25th at 17wks.
That looks awful when i see it written down. :(

posted with you katherine.
Slight runny nose when she cries.think the teething is
over for now.
Nappies seem fine.if anything, her dirty nappy pattern
has changed slightly.

Feed from the same side for a certain period - so if you feed from the LDS at 7, go back to that side at the 11am feed to start off with. Less fore milk before she gets the hind milk. Then offer the RHS.

ah...ok....i've just been doing every second side.
i'm super wary of my RHS because that's the side that got mastitis twice, so i don't like to leave it go too long on that side, kwim?

fwiw, the PHN said she would be long & lean (like her daddy, not me unfortunately!)...but that was before the 17 wk weigh in....

It's funny, but this does seem to happen around the 4m GS and also coincides when a lot of mums feel they may have had a drop in supply, along with it being around this time that the transition from hormone led to supply/demand led production occurs.

Anything else going on that might give some clues?  You say nappies are ok.  How is she in herself? Happy enough after feeding?

she is a little fussier during the day than normal...she will be smiling & laughing at me, but as soon as i lay her down t get ready to feed, she'll start screaming at me!!!

we def had OT going ok...but i've started w2s the past 2 dyas & that's given us 2 solid naps both days....so hopefully the OTness is wearing off...

If she has a stuffy nose she might not be able to breathe as easily during feeds or when laying down.

Have you tried saline spray or vapour rub (baby one)?
