Rearranging DF time
« on: February 19, 2014, 05:15:52 am »
Hi,
We're on 4hr easy give or take a few mins, we are 4mths by date/18weeks (does it make any difference), and we've just recently shifted our last feed of the day out from 5.30pm to 6pm. I used to df 9-9.30, but now when I'd like to shift it to 9.30-10, we're waking up around the 9-9.15mark. Any ideas how to shift the df so he's not wide awake for it???

Are you breast feeding or bottle feeding? I will move it to the appropriate board so you get the most support x

You can either resettle him when he wakes and do the DF later (might involve crying though) or do wake to sleep an hour before the habitual waking so he settles back to sleep more easily and then you can do the DF at the later time.

fed every 3 hrs yesterday, and woke up crying in the night 3hrly for feeds (hasn't done that since a baby!) I ended up putting him down later and (7pm) and he stirred at 9 9.30 but not awake like previously - fed at 9.30

Maybe stick with 9.30 for a bit and move it later by 5 mins each day assuming he isn't awake before that.
