4-hour EASY goes pear shaped in afternoons
« on: March 10, 2014, 12:35:41 pm »
Hi - my DD is 23 weeks and is doing well on a 4 hr routine until we get past the 15:00 feed and then she tends to want something every 2-3 hours until bed.  I've increased her previous feeds and can't get her to take more.  Any thoughts on why this is happening?  Timings vary a bit depending on the length of her 2nd nap which is sometimes 40 mins.  This is a good day for naps

E 7.00
S 9.10-10.40
E 11.00
S 13.00-14.45
E 15.00
E 16.30
S 17.00-17.30
E 18.15
S (bedtime) 19.15

Hi :). Is your concern just that she's wanting a feed sooner than 4h in the evening?  Do you breast or bottle feed?  If bottles, what oz is she taking at each of those feeds?  How are her nights in terms of feeds?

Have you ever tried offering a paci instead of a feed if she's recently been fed?

Sorry more questions than answers but want to make sure I understand your question properly :). The one thing that springs to mind is that there is a big growth spurt at around 6 months so if this is a new phenomenon that could be the reason.

Will look forward to your reply x
