Ew for 22month old.
« on: March 13, 2014, 07:05:24 am »
Hi,
I think we might need a routine tweet but not too sure?

At the moment it looks like this
Wu 5.30/5.45
Nap 11.30/12 (normally 6hrs after she wakes)
Bed 7.30

Would love to get her waking at 6.30/7 :)

She's just had a back tooth come through but think she's over that pain now.

Thanks for any advice xx

For us we need a 13hr day max so if at 5:30 BT at 6:30, I think I'd also move nap later-this helped us with early mornings x

My LO is same age and I agree with pp you need to push nap out a bit and try sticking with 13 hour day. We do set nap now 12.30 BT 7.15 WU varies between 5.45/6.30 but has got later now nap later.
Would just add we are having major language explosion which can affect routine a bit x

Thanks for your replies.

I've been trying what you said & not having longer than a 13hr day, she's been waking between 5.30/6 most mornings. I've pushed the nap back slightly to 615/6.30hrs after she wakes and capped at 2hrs.

Now for the last week or so we've been having really LONG nw! Last night was 1.5hrs until I gave in and gave her some milk & she went back to sleep.
She's just really wide awake calling mummy all the time, she's in a big bed & will get up sometimes if I dont go in.

Any ideas?

Thanks xx

Sound like she's UT to me, which an earlier nap is not going to help with IMO. One of the others mentioned it, we had sleep shenanigans at this age which were as a result of developmental leap (language explosion) and teeth.

I would try something like this for a few days

WU: 5.30/45
Nap: 12.30 (capped at 2h)
BT: 6.30/45

What do you think?

Yeah I'll give it a try thanks. I was thinking UT too.
Her teeth may be playing up still. She talks loads too (everyone always says to me how well she talks) can that affect sleep?
Don't want her  to get into bad habits of waking at night.

It certainly can. With R it almost like she's practising/rehearsing all that she knows, usually at silly o'clock. She's a talker too!

Can I just ask.. There's a 7hr awake time in the morning and only a 4 hr in the afternoon?
Will this not make her under tired for bed time?

No because you are stretching her at one end of the  day. If you did it at both she's likely to
Be OT. R is 32m and her day looks like this:

WU: 6/6.30 (out of bed at 7am)
Nap: 1.45-3.15
BT: 7pm (asleep by 7.15/30 depending in WU time)

Does that help?

Hi HenaV,
Thought I'd keep you posted &again ask some advice.

Tried a later nap time of about 7hrs awake time, where she was napping for 1.5hrs.
No longer than a 13 hr day so was looking like

Wake 6
Nap 1-2.30
Bed 7.

But the thing is now she is taking ages or fall asleep at bedtime, getting up loads & not actually falling asleep till 8.30?
If she's still waking at 6 she's not getting much nighttime sleep?
Any suggestions?

Thanks A x

Hey!

Why did you push the nap out? She may be getting a little OT with such a long morning?

Any sign of teeth?

Hena

Hi,
Because she was waking at 6 I put her down at 1.
Should I keep it earlier say 12.30?

She's had one back tooth come through but no sign of the others yet.
