Hi

It does depend how much A time she can handle, oskar will be 6 on the 25th and we are on 3.15 hours of awake time, anythibg less gives us a short nap, but this is generally above average, some babies do less.
By 6 months you will be heading towards 2 naps per day.
What schedule do u follow at the moment?

We don't have any ! :-(

This has been my hardest baby yet. She wakes at 8am. I know by 10.30 am she's ready for a nap but she will not go to sleep unless shes at the breast. So this past two days I've tried rocking her o sleep. It worked the first day.nshe slept for 2 hours! The 2nd day she woke the minute I put her own and tht was that.
She cat naps throughout the day. I'd say she'd only laston a 2 hour A time at the moment because she is so overtired.
She wakes every 2-3 hours a night to use me as a soother! :-( disaster I know.

At 6mo my DS1 still did naps at 10-12, 2-4 and 6-6.30. That was with a 8-8 night. He was high sleep needs though and still had 1-2 NFs.

DS2 is my low sleep needs one. He was on 2 naps of 1.5hrs with 3hr A times, sometimes more if he woke early.

I'd say your problem is really that your LO is so dependent on feeding to sleep. It may be hard to get her to sleep at appropriate times if she is looking for the breast every time she cycles into light sleep.

Do you think you/she are ready to sleep train?

Ill second Ali here, it looks like your LO just doesnt k ow how to go to sleep without BF, it really depends whether you are happy to continue like this or you would like to dedicate some time to sleep train?

Sleep train involve crying? :-( she will not take a soother. She's a very unsettled little lady. Maybe thats because she dosent sleep.

You could try the gentle removal plan if you want to avoid all crying but it may take a long time. Gentle Removal Plan

Or you could try shh pat or gradual withdrawal.

Maybe start with shush pat in your arms and work on getting her down a bit earlier each time and then continue in the cot as needed if you feel you aren't ready to go all out just yet?

Yes I quess I could try doing that. If we're awake at 8am will I try her down for a nap at 10.30 ? Or as soon as I see her tired. How long between the first and 2nd nap? X

If she is usually tired after 2.5hrs then yes have her down for 10.30 but if she doesn't seem tired I would wait as late as 11. What is her usual A time now?

It depends how long she naps. If she does a good 1.5hr nap then I would aim for 2.5-3hrs again for the second A time depending on how tired she seems. If the nap is shorter then you may need to reduce the A time by 20-30 mins.

Her A time can be up to 4 hours because sometimes she just won't go to sleep. With other little ones here running around its very hard to be consistent but I quess if I want her to nap I'm going to have to be.

Oh forgot to say she gets her 'dinner' at 11am. How would I work around it? X
