Hello to everyone! I'm new and I'm Italian so I apologize for my English.
This forum is fantastic and I'm very impressed!

I need your help because I have two great issues with my 5month year old baby:
- EW at 5/5.30 am since he was born. Until 2weeks ago he was able to fall asleep alone, after a little cry, but now he completely awakes and it is impossible to soothe him. He wants to wake up!
- Short naps: since he was 2month his naps last only 45 mins and I don't know what to do.

I read Tracy Hogg book and I try to apply EASY:
6am EW
7.30am Eat breast feed
9.30 am Nap ( 45 min)
12.00 am Eat semi solid food
1.30pm nap (45 min, but if I rush in the room or if I make shh pat before his awakening usually he sleeps for another 45 mins cycle)
4pm Eat breast feed
7.45pm Eat breast feed and FF
8.45pm bed time

Now the A is 3hours and I see the sleep clues, so it's easy soothe him and he sleeps alone in his crib. He doesn't  have any prop ( dummy, breast, bottle), only a soft toy.

For the EW I think I have to disrupt the pattern so I wish use W2Smethod. Do you have any suggestions about that?

For short naps I'm sneaking in the room before his awakening and I'm trying to calm him down all the time. I have two questions: whit this method will he learn to transition after 45mins to another cycle alone? Or do I create a dependency?

I'm very confused and frustrated, so thank you for your help!

Hi, and welcome to BW.
Is he having only two naps a day?  Or is there another one in the late afternoon.
In any case, his day is very long. Most Los do better with a 12-13 hr day.

I agree with you! This is the reason for my worries...Yesterday I anticipate bed time  at 8pm because he didn't sleep in the late afternoon
If I go out with car or with stroller, he relax and has a nap at 6pm (30/40 minutes).
I forget to tell you that if I go out during the day, he sleeps well, for one hour and half or two hours!
.
Many thanks!

5months! The problems with naps have started since my LO was 2 months year old. EW at 5 am are a constant presence from his birth!
