Is it time to cap the nap? 2 YO
« on: July 05, 2014, 18:51:47 pm »
So R turned 2 last Sunday, after the horrendous 18m SR and the canines and first molars all cutting at once we had amazing sleep from May onwards   :D sleeping 12.30-2.30 capped and asleep by 7.15, doing 11.5/12 hrs at night, which I was so greatful for as I didn't know how much longer I could cope with the broken sleep and EMW.

So his behaviour changed the day after his birthday, he seems to need me more, is having melt downs about very trivial (to you and I) things and has become afraid of "big" things, so I'm guessing we're in some sort of leap. His nap has pushed out to nearer 1pm as this is when he's falling asleep, I'm still allowing 2hrs but it's now taking him an hr to sleep at BT, he settles fine but mucks about.

Do you think I should be capping his nap in order to make him tired enough to sleep at 7ish?

Hi,
Could you post a 'usual' day in EAS format so we can see what it looks like. It could be that he needs his nap dropping but it could also be largely developmental in which case staying consistently to the routine usually helps.
