1yr old night wakings
« on: August 29, 2014, 06:23:50 am »
I have a 1 yr old textbook toddler, he has been on EASY since 8 weeks old and have not had a problem until now!
He is about to start nursery so we had to adjust his routine and have dropped down to one nap a day, he was also refusing to take naps in the afternoon too. He naps for about 2-3hrs in his one nap a day, however now he wakes up at night approx 1.5hrs after going to bed and then again between 11pm- 12. He wakes up crying but settles himself after a few minutes but as his sleep is disturbed he is waking up tired. We have started putting him to bed earlier but not seeing any difference. I can pretty much set a clock for the times he wakes up. Also he is cutting his first molars and recently started walking so I'm sure these are not helping him sleep also. He doesn't seem tired during the day only just before his nap he managed quite well.
His EASY is;

7am - wakes and has breakfast
11.30 - lunch
12.30 - nap
2.40- 3 - wake up and plays
5.30 - dinner
6.30 - bed and we have been bringing this forward to 6pm

Is this just a phase or is it becoming a habit now as been happening for about 2 weeks just over.
Any advice is appreciated.

thanks

Hi there, your easy looks pretty good and although the behaviour does sound like OT (which you might get a bit of during the 2-1), there is also a sleep regression around the year mark, perhaps it is just a phase?

Thank you for your response, I guess we will just roll with it and not alter things for now.
