12 months old not sleeping enough
« on: September 09, 2014, 10:10:46 am »
LO turned one yesterday, she has never been a great sleeper and all I seem to do all day long is calculating naps, A times, BT times.
It is driving me crazy. We have problem with EW and has for last 4 months. I have tried to extend her first A time to make her sleep longer during the night but she never does more than 10,5 hours during the night and never longer than 1h-1h10 for naps.
Her usual day is as follows:
WU  between 5-6
S    around 10 ish depending on WU time ( she can last 4h -  4,20)
A    11
S     3-4
BT   7:30

does this sound right? so why EW? Is there any reason for which she cannot do longer naps?
recently she has been waking up during the night and screams for 30-45 min unable to resettle, today woke up at 5 and again screamed for 1 h, then I picked her up. Why I cannot resettle her? She is an independent sleeper, sleeps in her cot, isn't fed to sleep or rocked.
I need some stability, Im at the end of my wits.

Aaah! 1 hour naps. Don't they drive you nuts? DD did these and it really was just the way she was wired. Even now, at 2.5 she still rarely goes over 1 hour. OK, where are you with teeth? How long have you been on those A times? I would be going closer to 5 hours at this age, but of course, some LOs do less, some more. When she wakes after those 1 hourish naps, what sort of mood is she in? Wondering if this is 2-1 nonsense starting up. Hugs!!

It's weird. I bumpped it to 4h 30 min over 3 days, but still slept for 1h, but she was falling asleep during BF, so i wanted to put her to bed, but she refused. Today was very messy as:
WU. 4:40 managed to resettle after 50 min and slept until 7:30
S.    12:00
A.     13:00
Bt.     18:00 as she refused to nap at 5 maybe i should have AP  to make her sleep for 20 min and then make BT 19:30
What do you think?
I think she is teething as well so...
She is very happy after her 1 h naps.  Definitely a nonsense 2-1 transition. Will she be able to sleep for longer. Once she is ready though, Im worried that 1 h will not be enough.
