Hi Fellow Baby Whisperers. This is my first post for baby #2. My first was an angel baby, easiest little thing in the world and at 20 months still is. Why can't baby #2 be an angel? He's a textbook baby. He was born at 40 weeks, has no medical issues and has good weight gain. He is formula fed with a bit of donated breastmilk from a friend. I recently moved him to a 3.5 hour EASY. He will be 4 months next week and I'm want to make sure we're on the right track. He's still waking at least once at night after his dream feed but sometimes more. Hubby and I aren't feeling so hot these days with the lack of sleep. I want to make sure we're a happy, healthy, well rested family!
Our current routine is:
7am - Wake & Eat
9am - nap
10:30am - eat
12:30pm - nap
2pm - eat
4pm - nap (sometimes a cat nap)
5-5:30pm - eat
6:15/6:30pm - begin bath/bedtime routine
7pm - asleep in crib
10:30pm - dream feed
He usually wakes between 3:30am-5am. We were feeding him anytime between then if he woke. If he woke up at 2am we put the paci back in and he always fell back asleep until 4am-ish. He slept from 7pm-7am, with a dream feed, without waking when he was 11.5 weeks old. He did it another 2-3 times. We took this as a sign that he wasn't actually hungry at 4am when he woke and stopped feeding him and just put the paci back in. He had a slow weight gain so we realized he probably was hungry (poor baby and I felt so guilty!). His weight gain is REALLY good now and his night wakings have been almost 4am on the dot every night for the last couple of weeks which makes me wonder if it's habitual waking now. Any thoughts? 2 nights ago we decided we wouldn't feed him if he woke. He woke at 4am, put the paci back in and he slept until 6:45am. Last night we didn't feed him either but he woke at 3:30am, 5am, 5:45am and 6:20am. My instincts tell me that he's not that hungry when he wakes at night. If we feed him at night he only eats maybe 2oz from his 7am bottle.
Any advice would be wonderful! Thanks all
