Do I need to push back nap time at 15 months?
« on: October 11, 2014, 17:09:18 pm »
So my 15 mo lo has been doing one nap at 1230 for a few months now and it's usually 1.5-2 hrs but lateky he's giving me a hard time going down which he never does and yesterday he woke crying after about 35 mins and wouldnt resettle. I guess it could be teeth but it's just odd for him to fight nsp time or sleep less than 2 hrs. Do they need more A time as they get older? His easy is like this:

730 wake. Can be 7 can be 8 am
12 lunch
1230/45- 2/230 nap
Bed 730/745

Thanks so much!

Well if on the day in question he woke up at 8am, and went for a nap at 12.30, then his A was only 4.5 hours, which is on the short side for this age.  I think, yes, you might want to push nap a shade later and see if that helps him.  Some LOs like a long AM and shorter PM, and others the other way around.  You need work out which is best for you.  You'll know pretty quickly by BT behaviour!  They definitely need more and more A time as they get older, eventually of course there's no nap at all!

He only takes one nap. Today he was up around 715-730 went down for nap at 1245 but only slept until 2! And he did give me a little bit of a hard time going down. Is a 12 he day norm for a 15 month old tAking a 1.5-2 hr nap?

He's also taking a while to fall asleep at night. He was up from 1.5 nap today at 2 and he gets wired aroubd 630 which is when we are trying to wind down. It's 8 and he's still trying to settle. Can he be ot or overstimulated? He was up at 7 am napped from 1230-2 and is still not asleep at 8!
