Nearly 5mo wants to top up feeds a lot!

Hi everyone...
Something has hapoened this week and my slightly predictable baby has become utterly unpredictable and awfully difficult.

We are trying to be on 3.5hr easy moving to 4 hrly feeds.

But she wants to top up after every feed!
Has a feed, then an hour later wants a snack.
I've started a bit of solids but she's not super keen.

Meanwhile naps and nights are dreadful- nights she's back to waking every 3 hours for a feed again...at 21 weeks!!

Advice most welcome. I'm a bit of an overtired mess today!

Really sounds like a growth spurt to me! I wouldn't be too worried about the solids if she is not keen, plenty of time to get the hang of that! I actually did top ups as a matter of course with DD3 from about 3/4 months, it worked well for her.

Thanks :) How long and how often to GS happen? A few weeks ago she was doing the same and I thought that was the 4 mo growth spurt. She's not a slim baby!

How long did you top up for? I have been really beating myself up about top ups...thanks for saying that you did it too. I feel like I fail in every area of routine so that's nice to hear.

I did them probably until she was 8 months and on 3 meals of solids...basically when she quit asking for a top up. If you are going by the routines in the BW book it is helpful to know that bf advice has changed a lot since they were written so having an EAEAS routine or whatever works for your lo is perfectly fine!
