Food and constipation..

Sorry if this is the wrong section, was torn between "eating for toddlers" and the health section.
DD has always been a constipated child, shes been on movicol since 6 months but has still had trouble from time to time, this has slowly got worse the last month or two. Even though her diet isn't terrible im wondering if it could be better, id rather try change her diet then add medication. The last two days we have cut out carbs and made the point of sitting on the toilet chatting/reading twice a day with very good effect, how ever im unsure if this is something diet wise thats good for her long term and if we can keep it up. Before stopping carb this would be an average day -

Breakfast - ready brek/toast/weatabix/shredded wheat, followed by yogurt and fruit.
lunch - ham/cheese sandwhich, tomatoes, cucumber, then either crisps and fruit or occasionally a little bit of chocolate
dinner - pasta based meal e.g spag bol with garlic bread and veg or meat, veg and waffles

drinks wise she just drinks water.

When ever we have given snacks we find she doesn't eat much if any dinner, so have kept to the 3 meals a day.
Her bread is sometimes wholemeal, but we haven't tried wholemeal pasta with her yet.
Over all is her diet playing a role in her constipation?

Its hard sometimes to take a step back and look at your routine when you have been doing it for so long, you forget whats good and whats bad.
