When to worry about weight loss?
« on: March 24, 2015, 23:27:59 pm »
hi.  I just plotted my 4mth old weight on her chart after getting back from the doc.  She has dropped on her weight chart.  Nothing significant like a full percentile, but enough to make me wonder.  My theory has always been it doesn't matter where on the chart she is so long as she maintained her percentile or put on weight it's fine.

She is a happy baby, naps well etc, so do I not worry?  She does have food intolerances and med controlled reflux which doesn't seem to be causing her pain.  She is also quite easily distracted during feeds, so will only take a good feed if in a quiet place.

With all these contributing factors, I feel like the drop in weight isn't something to worry about so long as she is healthy and happy.  Would you agree? Should I get her checked again?

I believe in general health professionals only tend to worry if LOs drop down more than 2 centile lines. It doesn't sound like your LO is doing anywhere near that so I'm sure she is fine.
