Breastfeeding at 8 weeks
« on: September 22, 2015, 20:22:59 pm »
My 8 week old feeds every 2 hours unless she takes a good nap that's over an hour which only happens once or twice a day and then a stretch at night.  I don't remember my other two eating that often at this age.  Is this normal or does it mean she's not getting very much when she feeds?

Completely normal especially if s/he is not doing long naps in between. They will lengthen out I'm sure.

How long is LO awake before the nap? Just wondering if it is long enough or if a slightly longer A time could get you a better nap.

My 9 week old is also feeding every 2 or 2,5 hours (counting from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next feed). He usually naps for about 50min in between, and once a day for 1,5 hours.

As he sleeps well at night (with dream feed at 11pm and breastfeeding for 10min at 4 am) , I assume it is fine and he is getting enough at each feed...

How long is your baby awake for?
Best wishes,

Julia
