Is my teat flow too slow for lo? Will he prefer teat to boob?

So,I just managed to get my  7.5 month old lo on the bottle for 2 weeks. He's fully latched on 4/5 feeds a day, and 1 bottle feed.
He seemed happy with the  M teat size, but I read that sometimes babies start preferring bottles over mummy's boobies due to the faster flow, so I changed his teat to a S size today. ( My friends breastfed babies are on S size for that reason, so I thought I should change his too)

He sucks on the teat, then pulls off. We put the teat back into his mouth, he sucks a bit, then pulls off. This goes on and on.
Is the flow too slow for him? Should I change back to M?

I want him to be able to take the bottle once a day, but I am afraid that he will eventually reject the breast.

If I just give him a bottle once a day in a fast(er) flowing teat ( size M), will he soon prefer it over mummy's boobies?

My older girls had a bottle once a day from about 3-6 weeks old and they always liked a bit faster flow. It did not impact the bf at all. DD3 was a bit older (5.5 months) when she finally took a bottle and same thing, one bottle feed a day and still happily bf otherwise. I suppose it is worth mentioning that I had overactive letdown and oversupply so they were used to fast milk regardless!

If it is just one bottle a day I'd just stick with the M teat if that was working well. You can always try the slow ones again if he does start to show preference for the bottle. If you were giving several feeds a day while at work for example then my advice might be different.

Lo hasn't rejected the boob so I will continue with the m sized teats!
