Introduce dream feed at 12 weeks?
« on: January 14, 2016, 08:58:55 am »
Hi all
My 12 week old has his last feed at 7.30pm & goes to bed at 8pm. From 7 weeks he was going through until 5/6am for a feed then back to sleep which was amazing. He's now heading backwards & is feeding earlier & earlier in the night and last night woke at 1.30 then 6am.

I dream fed my first child from 6 weeks which had him sleeping through by 12 weeks.

Should I introduce a dream feed now for my 12 week old? I'm concerned he's too old for me to introduce it but he's going backwards with his night feeds not forwards.

Thanks in advance! Zoe

I should add, he feeds 6oz every bottle rough day timetable:
8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 7.30pm (times change with an hour depending on the morning wake up)

Thanks, Zoe

Hi, congrats on your LO!  I'm going to move you to bottle feeding.  :)

He could be going through a growth spurt which is making him hungrier, so maybe wait a couple of days and see if he reverts back.

It's difficult to say if the DF would work or not, the only way to see would be to try. If you do, give it a week before you decide if it's working or not.

What do you think?

Hi Laura
Thanks so much, yes it's tricky to know isn't it?
I did the DF last night at 11pm, he only took 2oz but then slept until 8am! I'll keep with it for a week to see how it goes & to see if last night was a one off or if the DF did have the impact.
Thanks again, Zoe
