Dream feed
« on: August 18, 2016, 04:11:54 am »
I started doing a dream feed with my 7 weeks old at about 5 weeks. But she wakes up a few hours later regardless. I have gone a couple nights without doing it and she actually sleeps longer?!? I put her to bed at 7pm and without the dream feed, she wakes between 2-3am. With the dream feed at 10pm, she usually wakes at 12-1 to feed. This doesn't make sense to me? She is capable of going 8 hours, it would just really be nice to have that 8 hours from 10pm-6pm. Any suggestions of how to change this?

Maybe the DF is disturbing her sleep. Tracy said that could happen with some babies.

You could try doing the DF earlier or later and see if that helps at all. Otherwise maybe just skip it and go to bed early some nights to make the most of her longer stretch.

Her sleep patterns will likely change as she goes through growth spurts and developmental leaps anyway so it won't always be the case.

She's doing really well for her age so try not to worry.

Ya I think I will just keep skipping it for now! At least I'm getting a little bit of sleep!
