Want to crack this early wake up time

Now I no it's not classed as an early wake up because he goes to bed early and to stop him waking so early he clearly has to go to bed later but it's easier said then done even on days he's gone to bed later he's still Got up at the same time
Sometimes he sleeps till 6am which is the time I'd like to aim for I don't mind getting up at 6 because my other kids are up round about them anyway and I like my evenings to spend with my oh after having f three young kids all day it's nice to have some me time or a night so a earliest bedtime does suit me that's why I've stuck to it but getting up so early esp now it's winter is depressing me
Can anyone help me shift his routine ino people say move his routine gradually etc but I don't want to keep putting him to bed later if it makes no difference and he still wakes so early as he will be getting less sleep
I'm dreading the clocks going back next week I'll be up at half 4 and
No day is the same really with Cruz
So it's hard to say move breakfast etc
This is his routine from last few days
He's cutting teeth and has been poorly with bronchiolitis but is better mostly now


Friday 21st October ❤️
1.55am - calpol bonjela almost 2oz
Sounds really snuffly right back off
6am - got up
6.20am -  1oz
7.15am - ready brek
9.25am - lay in cot
10.55am - woke up
11.30am - lunch this is normally at 12
1.50pm - 4oz
2.10pm - 2.25 nap pram was coughing woke him up
4ish - dinner
6pm - nearly 7oz calpol
11.20pm -  gave water moaning
Went bk in gave milk had a few sips

Saturday 22nd October ❤️
3.30am - 3oz
5.45am - got up
6.30am - didnt want his milk
7.30am - ready brek
9am - lay in cot
10.30am - woke up
11.30am - early lunch as we wen out
2pmish - nap pram
3pm - 2oz
4.30 - tea yog
6pm - c5oz

Sunday 23rd October ❤️
12.10am - didn't want milk had a few sips
5.30am - got up
5.45am - tried bottle didn't want
6.40am - 2oz
7.30am - ready brek
9.05am - lay in cot moanes till  9.15
9.15 - 10.25 nap
12pm - lunch
1.45pm - nap cot
2.25pm - woke up
3ish - didn't want a bottle
4.30pm - tea
6.18pm - calpol 5oz

Monday 24th October ❤️
1.40am - anbesol 1oz
5.30am - got up

He did start doing a two hour nap from 9.45ish till 12pm but then stopped
I just can't figure him out
He doesn't Seem to want any milk apart from his bedtime bottle anymore he wakes in the night but doesn't even want milk then just a few sips a oz at most

I just want him to get up at 6
What time should he go to bed for this
What about awake time for naps it's hard to fit two naps in with long awake times when he was having the long nap of a morning he wasn't ready for another nap til gone 3 and then could only have a little cat nap as it would make bed time to late

So today he got up at 5.30am what time should his first nap be etc I don't have any school runs this week x

Hi there, he's just over 9 months is that correct?

Honestly i would just take the plunge, shift bedtime to 7pm and stick with it, then shift again another whole hour for DST. His routine looks pretty ok, it's just all too early.  One long nap and a catnap is fine for this age :)  For my kids just shifting everything at once and dealing with the fall-out for a couple of days has always been the most effective.  I would keep him in his room in the dark in the morning until 'acceptable' WU time (lie on his floor if needs be) then work on first nap say 3.5h from wakeup - this looks about what he is doing? - but no earlier than say 9.30am.  Hopefully that with the shift in bedtime will sort out the mornings x

Thank you for advice 5.15 he was awake today I kept him in his room until 5.40 when I had to get up he was making so much noise and my toddler has been so over tired from waking early
Would I still keep him up till 9.30 even with a wake up of 5.15?

Yeh he's 9 and half months will be 10 months on the 12th November
I think I'm so use to getting him in the bath and bed bed 6ish once it comes to the time I'm looking forward to relaxing and watching the soaps lol but ino I have to make bedtime later to be able to get up later so I'm defo going to do it it's just getting use to that new Routine isn't it
I'm just dreading the later bedtime and him still waking up so early lol

I was thinking of putting my 2 year old in with the 4 year old and letting Cruz have his own room the only reason it's not like that tho is because the two elder ones fight all the time
But I think I would make it easier to keep Cruz in his bedroom till a decent time

I still feed him his last bottle in his bedroom in the dark to
Is this ok or do u think he should have it downstairs now he normally falls asleep on the last bottle but goes down fully awake for naps in the day .
I would like to cut nigjt feeds now really x

Hi there - just putting this out there but I have found that pushing the first sleep of the day back resolved our early morning waking issues. We have not had an early morning waking since we pushed my son to stay awake longer. At almost 7 months old he goes to sleep no earlier than 10am and we do not hear from him until 7am. No idea why, he previously would go to bed and catnap if put to bed too early and then he kept waking early the next day.

So today went completely messed up as we were out out he fell asleep in his pram a lot earlier than usual for his second nap he was a complete mess come bed time and was in bed for 6 but today were not going anywhere so I've got to crack this
He was up at 5.15 again I don't no if I still try and keep him up till 9.30am for his nap
I really am so tired of getting up at 5ish I need to change this just feels impossible x

So here we are 4.55am he woke up!
Yday morning was great he did wake at 5 but I gave him a bottle and he went right back to sleep til just gone 6 today he will not
With a toddler who won't sleep I seriously can't keep getting up at these ridiculous times ?
He went to bed at 6.30 past two nights why did it help yday morning and not tonight will put him to bed at 6.45 tonight and then 7 tomoz night
All I want is him to wake at 6am I can cope wv 6am
I moved his whole day breakfast lunch etc
He woke at 6am I didn't put him for a nap uptill 9.45 so it can't be because his morning g nap is to close to wake up
I need help :(

4.15pm - food and yog
5.50pm - 6oz
10.10ish - stiring didn't go in

Wednesday 26th October 💙
1.40am - 4oz calpol ambesol
 2.50am - woke moaning babbling away didn't go back to sleep till
3.20ish
(New he would cuz over tired)
5.15am - woke up Wouldn't go bk sleep
5.45 - got up
6am - beaker milk 2oz
8am - wetabix
9am - lay in cot (moaned for a few)
10.15am - woke up (1hour15mins)
12.30pm - cod/veg yog
2.20pm - 2.55 nap pram (35)
5pm - mash / beans & yoghurt
6.27pm - 6oz
9.55pm - stired didn't need to go in

Thursday 27th October 💙
12.55am - 4oz
5am - 4oz
6.05am - got up
8.15 - chocolate ready brek
9.42 - lay in cot
11.15am - woke up
12.30pm - lunch
1.45pm - 5oz
2.15pm - 3pm nap cot
5pm - tea
6.25pm - 7oz almost

Friday 28th October ❤️
2am - 1oz anbesol
4.55am - didn't want milk babbling away went bk in 2oz still wouldn't go back 2 sleep but yawning
5.30am - got him up wouldn't go back of


So he's been awake since 4.55 how do I keep him awake long enough for first nap and to be able to put him to bed at 7? And I seriously want to stop those nigjt feeds he doesn't even want it half the time

Can someone do me a sample routine with a bedtime at 7 what time naps etc should be I'm going to have to just take the plunge and put him bed at 7 although I've got a feeling he wil stil wake up early I think I just make early risers x

My boy is almost 7 months so I am not sure this will be entirely helpful for a sample routine? Your boy is awake what looks like 4 hours thereabouts? Mine is stretching upwards to that but is not quite there yet but here is a sample as he is awake anywhere between 3-4 hours at a time.

E 7.00am (In reality this could be between 7-7.30am)
A
S 10.30am (Anywhere between 10-11am)
E 12.30pm (Anywhere between 12pm-12.30pm)
A
S 3.30pm Catnap - consistently for around 25-35 minutes.
E 4.00pm
A
S 7-7.30pm

This routine is shifting as we speak - I am allowing a longer sleep for the morning sleep and it is shifting later and later in the morning but I am rolling with how he is going, as some mornings he may be a little more tired so I will let him sleep earlier and a little longer (up to 2.5 hours which is pretty much all he needs for the day now but he will take a little catnap to get through to bedtime 7pm).

We are trying to crack the same problem and it's driving me insane!

With the clocks going back last night we were up at 3.50am this morning! We can't leave her to fuss as she's so loud and will wake our 4 yr old up.

Her bedtime is usually between 6 - 6.30 but yesterday we tweaked everything and gave her a 7pm bedtime and it made things worse!!

I just don't know what the solution is and have a horrible feeling that there isn't one. Maybe the only answer is to wait for the phase to pass, however hard this may be!

Have you tried this yet?
Looks like you might not be shifting his day rapidly enough.
Really you have to push for these routines to change.

Sorry - just had a another quick look and saw you did try for a nap at 9.45 one day but it takes several days or a week to see a change, it wont' happen in one day - sorry I haven't read your whole thread properly as I am short on time just now.

You asked for a guidance routine you could try. Here's an example of what you might try but it only works if your LO can do a 12hr night. If not then the second nap needs to be longer to take up some of the day hours and make BT later or WU earlier to allow for a shorter night of say 10-11hrs. mine didn't do a 12hr night until he was older.
WU 7
A 3.5
S 10.30 - 12
A 3.5
S 3.30 - 4 CN
A 3
BT 7pm

As for how to keep him awake - Tracy suggested a fan dance if necessary.  You do anything you can to keep him up - he won't be happy but it will help to set the routine in place.

Thanks Hun well he's been poorly with bronchiolitis again and we was in hospital last night we got home and he finally went to bed at 11pm he had been sleeping on or at hospital but 11pm he went to bed and got up at 7.20 which was really 8.20 as the clocks went back so I'm using this to start the later bedtimes we have been going later but not 7 but defo starting from tonight
That routine looks fab yeh he normally does 11/11.5 hours at night so but I don't mind him getting up at say 6.630 it's just the 5am starts I hate lol x

Sorry to hear he's been unwell :(  Once he's recovered properly let us know how you get on.  If it helps to encourage you my DS was an early waker for forever until I actually accepted he was an 11h night man rather than 12h - pushing his bedtime later was the best thing we ever did!  Good luck x

So last night he went to bed at 6.45pm I've decided that it's better for me at that time then my 2 year
Old at 7
So he woke once but the past three nights it's taken him ages to go back to sleep he just babbles and makes loads of noise he woke to at 5.45 so would of been 11 hours but I dno how long he was awake in the night
I no I really don't want 5am wake ups really but I'll cope for now 5.45 is better than 5/5.15
He can do longner than 11 hours and does most nights so I'm hoping give it a few weeks and he will sleep til 6 lol x
