4 mo old night wakings
« on: November 14, 2016, 10:06:37 am »
We always had a fussy cranky baby but our sole comfort was she slept well at nights! Now she's a much happier baby - who sleeps terribly at night!

LO is 4 months and was colicky up til about a month ago. She is on about a 1:45-2 hr active time on EASY. She naps anywhere between 1 to 2 hours usually. Lately she's been napping for closer to two - she's becoming a better napper. Last night she went down around 630-700 in the evening then woke around 930, 1100, 200, 430 - this is becoming her habit for a week or so now. She used to wake only once a night.

EBF. We swaddle. I managed to resettle her once without feeding but after that she screamed and hollered and would not be comforted. She's always been very impatient about feedings - when she's hungry she wants to eat NOW - i think when she sleeps she's fine but the second she wakes and is even a little bit hungry she has to eat.

Not sure what to do!

Hi

There's a big growth spurt at 4 months and many LO go through a sleep regression at this age.
It can last a couple of weeks usually. Not sure if there's a thread on here somewhere which mentions it but google it and you'll see many parents wondering why their great sleeper is no longer!!!!

Ride it out for another week and if things don't go back to normal come back and we can look at your EAS x
